BUT, the look on our kids' faces when we stopped at a very small town.........and brought home our own new puppy: PRICELESS!!!

Grandma H bought my kiddos new pj's for Christmas ( I must say I LOVE that tradition!! ) and My mom & dad bought me pj's for my birthday!!!, and we bought Grandma H some pj's for Christmas too! (I had my mom's name in the draw). So here's a pic of all of us in our nice warm fuzzy pj's!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!
My birthday was celebrated a few times, and I felt very special, and very blessed.....

While we were at Grandma and Grandpa H's ......the brought out a birthday cake for me! :) Me and my four blessings (most days LOL) on my 32nd birthday! :)
Since we are going away at Christmas we decided to have an early Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa H. Opening some presents from them, and some from Uncle Dan and Auntie Tara! A HUGE thank you to all of them!!
It is nice way to spend an evening :) 
We had a kid fun day ....... with cookie decorating, face painting, sleigh rides and crafts!! Fun day for everyone!!
and our Annual ladies' Christmas dinner!....a very lovely evening!!
The kids worked on a bit of a "craft" with painting the inside of clear Christmas balls, and at moms & tots the little guys got to paint the windows........so I decided to let my kiddos paint our windows today after school!
Kaelie and a few girls were street urchins.......they are dressed like poor people walking the streets singing and asking people to donate some money into their cups (it goes towards the festival)
The kids' school decorated gingerbread houses to be auctioned off as a fund raiser for the weekend. I had to take a picture of the roughrider cake.....not sure who's class did that one!

And we enjoyed a free horse and carriage ride as a family, too!!
Also enjoyed a parade that evening, and had friends over for pizza and visiting!
Had a lovely evening with a group of gals. So fun to have my sweet friend Teresa drive out here to come!! We had a lovely meal, a gift exchange and revealed our secret sister :)
Interesting my daughter chooses the same instrument that I used when I was in band.....no persuation from me! It was an enjoyable concert. Neat to hear how much the kids have changed from grade 5 to grade 6 band!
Recently my kids got report cards, and parent/teacher interviews. It is so encouraging to hear how well the girls are doing in school. Of course there are things they both need to work on...but overall got great compliments, etc.....
Kaelie's teacher appreciated her helpfulness. Always asking if she could help. One thing Kaelie needs to work on is organization and neatness.
Emily's teacher said that Emily is reading almost in a grade 5 level (she's Grade 3 (and 4 months). She is a quiet girl.....and like it said on my report card soooo often ~ she was encouraged to speak up more in class :)
Sydnie is doing very well. Her learning to read is going great!! She is left handed and struggles with printing some of her letters and numbers.
My kids have also just recently got some immunizations. Something I held off on when they were babies.......our personal informed choice. So now we are starting to get them caught up.
While doing that we got them measured and weighed (except Kaelie)
Isaac despite his picky eating habbits is in 75% for his height and weight....so I was encouraged by that!
Sydnie (and I giggle) is in the 10% for her height and about the 25% for her weight.
Emily is about the 50% for both height and weight
It was interesting to get those facts!

A very fun and eventful evening! Murder Mystery Meal in the 80s!!!
My wonderful husband decided one morning to go out and buy me coffee creamer ~ and a bouquet of flowers! This something that does happen occasionally, but not all that often......so it is super sweet of him :)
Not only that, but my wonderful husband stayed home and took care of this whole big household for the whole weekend so I could go on a mini get away! My friend Shannon and I met up in the city.......stayed in a hotel, talked til 3AM one night, talked, talked, and talked some more........a huge variety of topics ( there are only certain people in your life that you can talk about the wide variety of topics that Shannon and I can talk about ). We shopped .......our biggest purchases were Dollarama, and Value Village! LOL and of course we dined out! :) YUM!
I came home feeling so refreshed! And happy to be home with my hubby and my kids, yet miss my dear friend So much!
Those of you who know Sydnie's character may get a kick out of this, those of you that don't, may get a kick out of this....... She is quite the character! :)
