Happy 3rd birthday Sydnie!

I can't believe that our little Sydnie has turned three. It kind of neat to see the changes in her. And really it is amazing how much 6 months makes such a difference in their maturity at this age. We started out her day with the Walk for MS. She had a BIG nap in the afternoon.......but then started complaining of a tummy ache. We had made plans with two other families to have a hot dog roast and a baseball game at a park in town to celebrate her birthday. We packed everything up and on the way, Sydnie got sick to her stomach! So we continued there, not sure what we would do for sure.......met up with the first family......and decided we ought to take her home. Good thing.......she got sick to her stomach yet again, on the way home. All our kids were quite disappointed but we decided to just postpone the picnic until the next day. But since it was Sydnie's real birthday and she was feeling better we decided to let her open some gifts.



So we postponed the party to be on Sunday......well then the weather didn't co-operate.....it was going to rain. So we had 12 kids (including the two babies) and 6 adults in our home! Rolland BBQ'd in the sprinkling rain, the kids picniced on the living room floor on table cloths, and it was a lot of fun.






I thought since it was going to be a picnic birthday, that cupcakes for the cake would work out best. It was very simple.....but the kids seemed to like them!
Our friend, Kailee, was also having a bday so we combined it with Sydnie's.

Walk for MS

Well this is kind of crazy picture, but kind cute in it's own way :) On Saturday April 28th we participated in the Walk for MS along with our friends, Shannon & Dana and their kids. Our two families together was a team named the Smouchards :) We were able to raise $400.00 all together to go to the cause. And our families walked 5 KM! Kaelie and Gage got a t-shirt out of the deal too.

Our home

Rolland did some touch up work on the outside of our house. Took of the "fake" shutters, painted the front siding, front trim. He also added a creative touch with the color of the door. Getting ready to sell soon!

Kaelie got another reward!

Each month Kaelie's principal has a theme......and certain kids get rewarded for doing the theme for the month. This month's theme was "paying a compliment". When Kaelie's teacher called to tell us that Kaelie would be receiving this award, she told us that Kaelie was the first to come to her mind. That was encouraging. We are very proud of her!

You know you are tired when..........

This is Sydnie exhausted from the day! Her head is right in her bowl of popcorn.
Last night I had gone out with some friends, and Rolland was letting the girls stay up a bit later to watch a movie and enjoy some popcorn. Sydnie (who insists to start the day around 6 AM) didn't last too long.

Baby Shower

Our friends at church did a baby shower for us on April 20th. We had a fun filled evening.......including taste testing baby food (with no fruit only veggies! YUCK!!), and feeding each other whipping cream with eyes closed! It was a wonderful time with our church family. We even got a turkey dinner!

A group of the people from the church went together and bought us a rocking chair. It is wonderful, and beautiful! We love it!

One month old ALREADY!!

This month has flown by......sad in a way. :) But our little man is growing and doing well. On April 20th appointment he was already weighing 9 lbs 14 oz....... I think he is gaining about a pound a week!

Cousin Jenn Came to Visit

My cousin Jenn came for the weekend to visit all of us and to meet Isaac. She was a big help with the garage sale, playing with the girls, and holding Isaac. We really enjoyed having her here.

Iced Tea and cookie stand

We had a garage sale this weekend ......the weather didn't co-operate too much.....it was cold! The girls had a Iced tea and cookie stand......they made about $7.00!

ISAAC the topic of Talk Time

Kaelie decided to take Isaac to Talk Time (show & tell) today! She introduced him to the class, said a few things about him, and then the class was able to ask her questions. Pretty neat, I think. To conclude her talk time, she said "I like him because he is cute" (I may have to remind her of that one day :) LOL) PS. She didn't take him in her back pack :) I took him to the school for her. LOL This is Kaelie's teacher Mrs. Gareau, meeting Isaac. :)
I think everyone was quite interested and enjoyed the introduction. It would of been sooner had we not been in and out of the hospital so much.

Grandpa and Grandma Bouchard come to meet Isaac!

We had a nice visit for a couple of days with Grandpa Henri and Grandma Marie. They came with gifts for the girls as well as for Isaac. Marie made a beautiful baby blanket for Isaac......which I don't have a picture of......but I will look into finding one.

Easter Sunday & Monday (April 8 & 9)

Easter

Sunday morning the girls woke up to little chocolate easter eggs hidden around the house. They had a lot of fun hunting for eggs before church. They also got some Easter treats at church too!

Easter weekend events!

Boy oh boy! I was sure that having a baby wouldn't slow me down from being on this thing.......but priorities change :) Probably a good thing! :)

Our Easter weekend wasn't too eventful but I do have some pictures to share........

Friday evening we did Easter egg dying! The girls had a great time with it!



On Saturday we tried to go to the park.....(no pictures), but it was pretty chilly. I have heard that it was about -16 with the windchill......not great for park weather......so we didn't stay too long. The girls did make cookies later on that day though.

Terrific Kid!

On Friday March 30th Kaelie's teacher called to tell us that Kaelie would be getting an award at the school assembly that day. We had already planned on going to the assembly, it was kind of neat because Grandpa and Grandma Hill were able to come too! Kaelie is in the front row all the way to your right. (black shirt and blue pants)

Kaelie received a Terrific Kid award! These awards are put out by Kiwanis International.

Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.--Kiwanis defining statement, adopted October 2004.

Isaac 5 days old
The only family picture we have so far.......but it is kind of a neat one! The quilt was made by Ivadelle Goud. She has made quilts for each one of my babies, and I also have one that she made for me when I was a baby!

Grandpa came to meet Isaac!

This post should really come before the whole tanning baby posts.......but just thought I would throw it in now.

Grandpa Skip came to meet his first grandson when Isaac was 5 days old! Didn't get a whole lot of getting to know each other since we headed to the hospital when Isaac was 6 days old. But it was pretty neat, because at the moment that Grandpa arrived Isaac was very awake and very alert. Pretty special.

Never thought I would be happy to have my boy in PINK!

Well we were admitted once again into the hospital on Tuesday night. Isaac's billirubin levels had gone up to 293 which, for his age, is just barely in the "worry zone"......but the doctor was being cautious (which I am thankful for), and admitted us. So under the lights again. Wednesday morning, his levels had bumped down to a safe zone at 266 however, the doctor wanted us to continue to stay. This morning, Isaac's billirubin was 199!! Which is awesome........and truly he was PINK! :)

It is soooooo nice to be home, and I have a good feeling we won't be back in the hospital soon.
Thanks soooo much for all of your prayers, thoughts, and concerns.

Now we will have to see if I can figure out how to manage my home and have 4 kids! My mom was a HUGE help while she was here, and we are all really thankful for that!

Crazy few days!

We went to the doctor on Friday because poor little Isaac had a bad eye infection. The Doctor thought that he was pretty yellow so he ordered billirubin test. The test results came back pretty high so the doctor admitted Isaac back into the hospital to go under these beautiful lights.

We were in the hospital from Friday evening to Sunday evening. We thought that we were getting close to being done with it, but today's billirubin test came back a little high again. So off to the hospital we go tonight to get him checked again...Not sure if that means we get to eat hospital food once again...I'll keep you posted.
